I think if you looked at a decibel sheet you would find that to be right up there with a space shuttle launch if you stood around 2 miles away. I know they are loud, I went to see one once and they kept us 5 miles away. Still hurt everybodies ears. I want to hear that shit, of course I might not be able to hear anything except ringing for the next few days

I believe that is for that class. Also that is with the new rules in effect. I have an article of a guy that hit ~186dB, but it was controversal because they said the microphone is only supposed to be able to measure to 176dB. Needless to say everyone was unhappy to know and the competition was canceled. I just happen to be there also.

Because how competative it is. Contenders are usually seperated by mere tenths of decibles, much like drag racing(seconds). Also the requirements and other things, are much like that of the NHRA (the format anyways).

That is my opinion anyways, some have different views.

Damn!! A family friend of ours owns his own Stereo shop here in the Dallas area (Larry's Electronics) About 2 years ago he had a mini-van with 24 12's in it that hit around the 150 DB mark...I sat in that thing and thought my damn head was gonna fall off
