Blu-Ray Problems already!

I purchased a Sharp Aquos blu-ray player back in Dec..
I love it, however....

It takes about 10 minutes to load a DVD (sometimes longer)
I have already taken one back because it sounded weird and
it would play a dvd once then never play it again, or it would not
play it at all...

Now.. I am sending the whole damn unit back because it will not open period!

I have a disc in it too.. they said they would replace the cost of the disc.

I think for 500.00 we should expect better performance .. The mechanics havent changed?

My PS3's Blu-ray works just fine. Your problem is with the hardware, not the media.

My PS3 works fine for Bluray as well. Games, too. Unfortunately, it freezes up when I put in a regular DVD.

Mine works great so far, both Bluray and DVD (knock wood).

My PS3 works great with blue ray's and DVD's no problem. I made a good investment in a PS3. For $500 I would take that sharp back and get a PS3

No problems here on my PS3. It plays DVD's, BluRay, and divx files just fine.

Since Blu Ray seems to have beaten out HD for the high def I suppose I need to get a BR player. I'll likely just get a PS3 since they're as cheaper/cheaper than some of the stand alone players.

Sucks cause I already have 2 HD players.

I don't think there is any "seems to" about it.

Yeah, which sucks because I've heard a lot of complaints about the players themselves. Oh well, now I have an excuse to add a PS3 to the game consoles.

I think the sharp is a piece of shit. Buy a panasonic, sony or pioneer.
