New Samsung LCD.

Picked this up yesterday for $1499 from Circuit City..i'll just start off by saying that from now on, I'll only shop there...Note: Fry's, Best Buy had this on sale for $1999. I got it for the same price as Amazon and actually a little less, because I also got a $100 voucher for the NFL.com to shop for stuff.

While I won't refer people to Samsung for their DLP's, their LCD's are pretty nice and this one is no different.

I got my 46" Samsung LCD from Circuit City a few months ago, and I love it.

LNT - 4665 - Originally $2499 and got it for $1600 something, great deal, good service.

Yeah, this is one of their newest ones, the circumstances around them price matching, were weird to say the least.

I'm really impressed with how they do their 120hz and 24p, compared to how well my Sony does it.

I'll never buy another tv. I'm ecstatic about my Samsung LCD. I just wish they made one larger than the 57" that is still eight fucking thousand dollars.

We ended up with the 56" Samsung DLP and love it! I don't know why you wouldn't recommend it-we have nothing but good things to say about it.

Most of my distaste has been from a Samsung DLP that I bought around a year ago. It was pretty much DOA, it had geometry issues and Samsung took FOREVER to do anything about it.

My parents also had one that gave them issues, though Samsung did act pretty quickly in replacing it.

If you look over on avsforums, most note that there are still geometry issues present on the "slim-design" models. They also had issues with rainbow effects from the color wheel.

That said, I've just never found a Samsung DLP that has impressed me, at any price level.

I do like their LCD's and Plasmas for the most part though. Just my $.02 though.

The Samsung DLP (46") that we bought a year ago has thus far performed great. Knock on wood may that continue.

I did look at LG's Opus LCDs...WOW! Those are nice, but the price tag isn't

That sucks. I can't say enough good things about our Samsung DLP, it looked great out of the box, but admittedly I can see some rainbows from time to to time, I need to bite the bullet and get it calibrated, the guy that wants to do it swears he can get 80-90% of the rainbows to disappear. We've had it for close to 3 years now, you'd figure I would have done it long ago. Maybe some day.

Well, I probably wouldn't pay what he's asking to get a 3 year old set done, unless of course it is cheap. Probably would be better off getting a new set and getting it calibrated. I agree that the Samsung DLP's around the time yours came out looked great, but I'm not sure if that was just everyone being hyped up about something else being out between a rptv and lcd/plasma.
