wireless surround?

does anyone here have wireless rear speakers hooked up?? is it just a kit you buy, or are there actual wireless surround sound systems??

i have a sony surround sound system, but i dont wanna run wires to the rear. lookin for other options- thanks

the speakers themselves aren't wireless. there is a wireless receiver node that the speakers plug into for the rear surrounds. i've only seen them in HTIB packages so far. i think the sony dream systems have a wireless HTIB package.

There is a universal one at best buy that makes your rear's wireless. But just as prez said, its just a device that still has to be hooked to both rear speakers. The only wire it eliminates is the ones running across the room.

I believe Bose makes a wireless system however. Best Buy does not carry though, I think you can only get it from bose direct or at the bose store.

The only one I have seen is what was already mentioned. You connect one module to the receiver and one can be placed behind a couch, or whatever, and the rear channels plug into that. I just saw that one at Best Buy last week and it was $100.

i guess that makes sense... dont really need the front ones to be wireless
