I'm going on some self research here, but our neighborhood had a block party soon after the at&t people started installing uverse here in my neighborhood. Being a little interested, I asked some of the people who were there and in fact some had switched over from roadrunner. The stories I heard was of having to reboot the at&t boxes on a regular basis and of internet outages that lasted days. They were not happy.
Since I work from home very often reliable internet is the most important thing to me. I saw no compelling reason to switch off of roadrunner, which is very reliable for me. AT&Ts costs were not any better than roadrunner for the services I want.
