Bose speakers hooked up to a regular reciever?

I am looking at purchaseing the bose jewel cube satellite speakers for my surrounds (I need small satellite surrounds) and then adding my own sub with a regular home theater receiver. Can you do this or do the bose speakers have to be ran through the sub that they come with?

i have the lifestyle series just hooked up to the regular reciever and it is fine. It is all a group and works in tandom with the bass speaker. Wires run from the reciever to the bass speaker and then out to the speakers if I remember right.

I know that the bose receiver has wires that go to the bass module and then from there the individual wires go out to the speakers. I guess what I was wondering is if the bass module does anything special to the signal like narrows the frequency range like a cross over or anything like that....... I hear that the jewel cubes are more than decent for their size and I would like to use them if there will not be any issues. Just FYI the jewel cubes come with the lifestyle systems but only on the upper end ones like the 48

No you can hook em up direct. In fact, I think Bose's subs suck. Nothing compared to even a klispch 10"
