car audio help ASAP

ok i just installed a alpine head unit also this problem happened with my old head unit ok i will be driving down the road the and all the sudden the radio will just cut out and then kick back on it will do this at least once a day i cant fiure it out i figured it wasnt pulling enough amps but my battery is fairly new and my alternator is all good so if any body can maybe point me in the right direction i would appericate it very much

If you just stripped the wires and used electrical tape, you probly are grounding out a wire or wires are touching.

sounds like a loose connection, did you use end caps or just twist the wires together, if you did make sure you taped them up well and tight, if not they will touch other things and then ground out.

Sounds like a ground. Recheck all wires and connectors. If not a wire that you hooked up, could be one in the dash somewhere.

no i used butt connectors and crimped them all i just rewired the whole head unit again for the 2nd time and still the same problem

If it's not grounding out, I'd guess you don't have a big enough power wire supplying it. If you're cranking the volume with a small power wire, it may not provide enough amps to keep the deck going, so it'll cut off and then come back on.

yes also the pervious owner had some kind of head unit and messed up the stock wiring harness so i had to make due with i had

i just a decent alpine head unit with kenwood 6x8 i have it all tuned down its rated at 40 amps but he maxpower is 200 but it is all tuned down

Run new wiring direct to the fuse panel. Then see if the problem persists. If the problem goes away, then the oem harness is defective.

OR, try this..the problem is either in the stock harness, the fuse panel, or under the hood. Try moving each individual component around to simulate driving conditions.

ok thanks man ill defenitley try that i was wondering if it was the problem
