Fios + OTA on 1 cable?

Is this possible? When I hook up a diplexer (sat in, ant in, mix out), the tv will play the antenna but not the fios. Then I split the single cable with a splitter, one to the fios box, one to the tv.

The antenna stuff works but the fios box wont pick up the signal. Do I need a diplexer instead of a splitter? Are the signals overlaping and thats why it wont work?

if you diplex at one end, you should have to diplex at the other

I'm not saying it will work, but a splitter on one end and a diplexer on the other certainly won't.

...even a splitter on both ends may work. Never tried, don't see why not though.

well that was a negative.... now my lazy ass is pulling another coax up the wall

I read somewhere cable based channels will overlap with the local hd frequencies so it wont work. Only satellite and ota will work

Do you do home installs? I fucking hate it. I cant even get a 2nd coax up the damn wall. The wall has a double cap and some rubbery shit below it. Im afraid Im going to hit power wires. I called FIOS and they are supposed to get back with me about combining the feeds. The tech was like "whoa man...thats way over my head... Im gonna have to have a video engineer call you"

Well I was able to get another coax down the wall this morning... just need to go home and compress some fittings on the ends and I should be good to go. Never again

You should really try and get into commercial installs

It wasn't by choice, but I thought I'd like it more because I enjoy home theater.... Turns out I only like doing the cool stuff and NOT crawling around in hot, dark attics and under other peoples' houses.
