LCD, DLP, LCoS or Plasma?

Torn as to what TV to get next since I just sold my 65" HP DLP tv. I loved that thing fwiw.

Anyone here with any opinions? In the Plasma market, the Samsung FPT5084 is getting rave reviews. In LCoS the 50" Sony XBR ive heard is great, in DLP ive heard the HL-T5089S - $1749 is awesome. But which one would you go with, LCD, DLP, LCoS or Plasma?

I would go with your guaranteed best bang for the buck screen, which is going to be DLP.

I like plasma. But just go to the store, look at what looks good to you.

Remember this, DLPs and LCD dont burn in like Plasmas. If you play games you may need to consider this.

If all you want to do is play games, a good LCD is the way to go. Otherwise, DLP is the best bang for the buck in most cases.

Plasmas also have a glass type screen so they have alot of light reflections on it. I wouldn't go plasma if you're putting the TV in a room with lots of windows.

plasma is a great tv if you are creating your own light. if you have a house, go with plasma. if not LCD would be your best bet

I went with a plasma and love it. Picture is great, no problems with burn in so far (I also use it as a computer monitor, so there are static images for some extended amounts of time). I got an LG. It has 3 different types of burn in prevention built in. Also has QAM, NTSC, ASTC tuner built in.

60" Plasma for $2k... couldnt beat the deal.

After seeing the DLP and LCoS in the store, I went LCoS. It looked WAY better IMO.

I have a 50" DLP and I'm more than pleased with it.

I payed considerable less for it's LCD and Plasma counterparts and the picture is fantastic.

The only downside to DLP is the limited viewing angle. It's right around 110 degress.

However, that's a non issue with the way my living room is set up.

Sony LCD or Pioneer Elite I would not buy a DLP the bulbs go out alot. Also Plasmas do not have burn in anymore just make sure you dont turn up the brightness over half way for a year worked as installer for best buy for a while
