What is everyone using speaker wise for their home theater?

I went to TOBY Laboratories Saturday and listened to their set up with The Matrix plugged in. I have to admit it was pretty damn impressive. 2050.00 for the six speaker set up. I am running BOSE right now. (nothing fancy, bottom line stuff, but sounds ok.) My brother is running DEFINITIVE and he paid over 3k for it. Sounds very good. Just curious as to what you guys were running.

I retired my line array speakers to the computer room until I finish them. In the upcoming weeks I might have my 5.1 spheres done though. I really just need to make the stands.

My sub is an old ASW1201 driver from Hsu Research in a sealed enclosure driven by a 240w Dayton plate amp. My reciever is an Onkyo SR574.

I shopped around for months before I bought my speakers. Ended up going with HTD. Best money I've spent! Only complaint I had was their sub's, so I went with an HSU sub.

Running this thru a Sherwood P-965 processor and an ATI 1505 amp. Everyone thats heard my set up loves it Now I need to finish this and get a damn projector

When I bought about 7-8 years ago I went with what I thought was the best bang for the buck.
-onkyo receiver
-polk audio speakers
-velodyne sub

I know it is not as good sounding as somethings, but it's not bad and still works good.

Take care,

My '03 Sold.

Well, if you ever plan to throw it away.............I will be waiting by your garbage cans.

I just have a run of the mill Kenwood that I run mine through. Sounds ok at best. I would love to find a deal on a Harmon Kardon.

I'm saving up for some Atlantic Technology IWCB-52 in walls, a HSU STF-2 sub, and a new Denon AVR-2808CI receiver.

...gotta get a projector first though, and it is taking forever, I never have enough money to do what I want. Sigh.

I think that's pretty much the trademark statement for any hobby.

As for my stuff, so lower-end Polk in-wall rears (7.1), JBL Balboa stadium speakers and JBL Venue Series channel, with SR-605 powering it. I've definitely concentrated more on video stuff though, my sound is mediocre, but in my smaller living room, it's pretty decent.

JBL Northridge: EC35 center, E50 L/R, E20's RL/RR, and SR/SL with an old, cheap Sony 12" sub (yeah, I know it needs upgradinng, but it still plays, sounds good, and won't die). It's driven by a Harman Kardon AVR-635. The signal is sent to either a Samsung 32" LCD or my BenQ 2500 lumens 720p projector. I'm piecing together another entertainment PC now to plug into the system since I had to pull the last one down and make it my wife's computer a few months ago. Fry's has some sweet deals on H/K receivers if you watch their Friday ads. I found the best deal for my speakers online.
