Broke CD player....

Let me tell the whole story so its clear...me and jeremy (whiteboy) installed some new interior peices in my gt and in the process un hooked my cd player that was in the car....after the interior pieces were installed he didnt re install the cd player cause he said he couldnt i guess or not sure he knew how...well 1 week later i take it to car toys in mesquite to get it professionally installed correctly and first they charge me ($47-50) for the installation charge then like 22 to hard wire it or some BS which i didnt know what is....well it came to like $73 that i payed before they even worked on my car and after they messed with everything they come back 2 hours later while im waiting and tell me there is no sound coming out of the cd player and the speakers are fine but its strange that it worked just fine before jeremy took it out....but after me b*tching for 10 min they told me i could pick out any cd player and they would take $73 off the price of the cd player...and i wonder if they are trying to screw me over or whats the dill cause now i have to pay like $130 to get a new cd player when the old one was just fine!!

First thing I see wrong is that you had Jeremy work on your car

I won't bash on Car Toys because I work for another shop but this really sounds like a load of crap. Was the radio that Whiteboy pulled out the factory? Have you already paid Car Toys for the "new" radio? It would be an easy task to connect a test speaker to the old radio and see if it had any output, did they try that?

Rue is right

Not to mention....

Hard wire means: to install a radio with no harness, rather they will wire it in directly to the vehicle.

If they had to hard wire it then that means Jeremy and you Cut the radio out of the dash, rather then "unplug" the wire harness. In this case if you drove around for a week with all those wires dangling...my guess is 9 out of Ten times you have:

1. A RADIO fuse blown
2. An ACC fuse blown
3. A HORN fuse blown

I bet if you check your fuse panel a fuse will be blown.

Check and let me know. If you all unplugged it, it is still possible a fuse is blown since you drove around for a week, but Cars Toys is trying to fuck you on the charge for hard wiring. Unless you have a car stereo with a factory amp, this would justify the charge.

BTW,
Let me know what kind of car you drive and I am sure I can get you a factory radio *FREE* if not for $10-$15.

That Car Toys in Mesquite has some bad a$$ stuff but it seems that it is seriously overpriced. I saw a display model for sale that was more expensive than its newer model. Whats up with that BS?

Well man i had to go because i was tired of driving around w/out a cd player but everytime i wanted u to put it in u couldnt or when u were free i was at work but its cool.....cause im not sweating it anymore and i just want a dayum cd player in my car!! So if everyone thinks the cd player is fine what can i do to test it cause i know i just changed all the fuses and if the cd player is fine then i dont want to have to buy a new one....and car toys told me my speakers are fine but there isnt any sound coming out of the cd player so i assumed the cd player is shot!!
