XM Radio in a 'Vert?

How would you mount the antenna? Just curious. Also, if you have two XM Radio's in two different vehicles (duh!) would you have to pay $10 or $20 a month???

Antenna would go on the trunk lid. The on glass antennas SUCK. If you got the Sony XM unit, you could buy an additional car kit for your second car and move the receiver from one car to the other. One receiver-one bill. The Sony unit is kind of hokey.

Just wondering, one of the guys on The Corral was inquiring about it and I started thinking... How would it go on? Another guy who's got a relative that works at XM Radio had some pics and stuff of his setup (He's got the Sony removeable unit also) and your right, it's kinda hokey. He's got it velcroed to his dash. Lemme see if I can post some pics

First of all, here is the link I got from The Corral on the guy that posted pic's.

XM Radio owners.. how is it?

Ya, it's kinda "ugly" but has the added advantage of being transportable between house and other cars. He posted that the house would need a "kit" to install on your regular home stereo which is an added costs.

Here's a multi car promo. Saves you about $40 plus the antenna has a $30 rebate.

Question

How would the reception be with the antenna on the back dash there instead of on the trunk or roof? I was really turned off by the idea of putting one of those bulky things on the outside of my car. Kinda reminds me of the "boomerang" antennas they put on the trunk of limos.

If you have metalized tint, it would effect reception. XM uses only 2 satelites. GPS has 24 total and i can usaully receive 7-8 at a time with the antenna under the rear deck cover. With only two possible signals, I can see where there might be reception issues. The roof is the best area with the trunk coming in second.

Could you mount something like that on the inside of the windshield like I've seen done on some cell phones??

I don't know, bet it's great for those long trips when you want to listen to something different. Plus it has some great stations like some comedy and business stations if you are into that.
