Whats the cheapest way to have decent sound?

I've got my 1990 fox body, and I would love for it to sound at least somewhat better then my stock 1999 mustang stereo I had ( non mach460 ). Right now I have 1 speaker that works and no back speakers at all and a head unit that cant play cd's because its broken. How much is it going to set me back to plop some good speakers in the doors and in the trunk slots as well as some in the dash. I am not a huge bass fan, but I love for music to sound like its supposed to. Thanks!

well...

its all about how much you are willing to pay. but since you wanna go some what cheap. i would go for the infinity all the way around. its clean. i would get an alpine or a kenwood head unit and if you want some real power behind the speakers run them off of a 4 channel amp. (kenwood V12 would be sufficiant) without the amp it would prob put you in the hole about 600-800 dollars.without the amp. if you just want decent sound. get the headunit(pioneer, kenwood) speakers(infinity reference, polk db, ect) and you;ll be ok

To keep it simple I'd just get some 6x8 coax's for the rear and some 5 1/4 coax's for the doors. Depending on what you want to spend would determine your speakers, and what amp to push them. Give us a budget to work with.

I plan on spending about $150 on all 4 speakers including the 2 that go in the dash. Also, probably about $150 on the head unit.

Man, I bet you are kicking yourself in the ass for not grabbing that Aiwa MP3 player a few weeks ago at Fry's for $100. I'd look more at $200 for speakers and maybe get a small amp instead of relying on what the head unit has.
