Bypassing Stock Amp ? Installing Radio.

How exactly is this done, i never really cared, cause before, i installed an amp to run my speakers, but i read that you have to bypass the factory amp, for the speakers, from the factory to work.

My whole stereo was stolen, with the amp, and i installed an alarm now, and got another radio.

Anyway, how exactly do you bypass the amp?

My car is a 87, and the stock amp seems to be behind the radio itself. Cause its not under the seat(passenger) as suggested.

And i saw a small silver black behind the radio. Any ideas?

i never found one when i stripped my 92 vert with the premium sound system, i never found one when i put together my 88 hatch with the premium sound system either, of course i got the last one as a roller....

i'd suggest hooking it all up and seeing if it works first. then go from there.

Like i said in my post, my previous radio didnt output sound to the speakers, im throwing the other one in, and i want it to work this time, i had to run rca's to the amp, and run the speakers off the amp.

Ok let me ge this strait you have an amp already wired with RCAs, Remote wire installed, power and grounds connected and working.

If that is so all you have to do is re run the wiring to your doors. Cut and splice..

am I missing something here?

in my 86 the stock amp is under the dash pad where the center speaker would normally be and it has a right and left speaker instead under the pad from the factory.
