Remote starter, How much do they run?

I really don't care if it locks or unlocks the doors. All I want is a stand alone unit that will just start the truck. Hawks quoted me 199.00 installed, then they said something about a gmd transmitter (59.99)for the door locks...........which I don't want. I want to still use the factory remote and all its functions.

Is this a descent price? 199.00 Installed?

If you don't mind buying on Ebay you can get a DEI unit for around 100..

The $199 is a good price but who is the manufacturer..?

Personally I would look into the Viper 130XV and have it installed by Car Toys, I hate Car Toys but even for them this is a simple job..

What is the year and model of vehicle? The worst thing about using the factory remotes is that the range sucks which is half the reason to get remote start. Some vehicles require factory security overrides which are extra. $199 is possible depending upon the situation.

2004 Silverado. All I want the factory remote to do...........is what it does now. I want a seperate remote for the starter. I just want it in the mornings while at home (more than likely that is where the remote will stay for the starter). I don't plan on having my truck running at the mall or anything.

You need the doorlock databus module(even if not connecting keyless entry) and Passlock module which is now sold as one unit, and remote start unit with remote.
I could do an Autopage unit with two remotes, override module, and install for $239+tax. DEI Valet series with one remote $274+tax.

I always give board members a good discount. Since everyone usually wants something different I just do each car on a case by case basis.
