Guys....I am trying to find a 10" subwoofer for a friends car and I thought I would ask opinions since I figured some of you might have seen whats out there. Heres the deal....the box is going to be sealed...and will have roughly .6 cubic feet of airspace. I am extremely limited on depth...about 5.75 inches is the best I can do due to the design of the box. I am using a Linear Power 2202 IQ amp bridged mono with an outboard Audiocontrol crossover. I would prefer a single voice coil 4 ohm speaker because the amp cannot be run at 2 ohms bridged. Due to the shallow mounting depth I am limited to I have only come up with one speaker that I think will work. The JL Audio 10W3 v2. Has anyone used this speaker? I want high power capability (within reason...300-400watts peak). Does anyone know of any other GOOD speakers that can fit a depth of under 6 inches that will compare? Please let me know.
Don't care if you do. This is not going to be another talk about Kenny's Cobalt thread. I know what my other car runs and I am proud of it. It might be hard for you to swallow that pill, but there are lots of 4 bangers that run 13s and better. SRT-4 Neons, Cobalt SS's, Saturn Sky Redline's and Evo's do it all the time.
I have two Rockford Fosgate P-2 10's in my car in a sealed box. They sound extremely clean and will knock my ears out. They retail for about $100 - $120 a piece. I used to work at Best Buy and Circuit City, and have sold/heard/owned many systems. for the money, I love them.
