Anybody ever heard of "Treo Engineering"?

their website is www.treoonline.com

a friend of mine wants me to try out their high end sub/amp lines, so i was just wondering what experiences people have had with them.

thanks,

brad

They are bullet proof subs and held the world record for quite some time. There are better woofers out there though.

i'm not the type of person that wants to break everyone's windows while pumping the latest rap song and driving 2mph through neighborhood streets at midnight, so it doesn't have to be the baddest sob on the planet. i like good sound quality, and i was told that their higher end subs sound really nice. i've really never heard of them, but i'm told that they're pretty high end. just out of curiosity, though, which subs would you consider to be better?

I've used some treo stuff, it's good stuff, but it depends on your purpose.

"i listen to everything" lol

for me, something that sounds good with rock and some country is fine. i really don't listen to rap or anything with huge bass lines, but i want it to sound good when i turn up the volume!

treos are bad ass i had one and it slamed it all depends on your amp you don't want to over or under power your sub and you want to make sure that you have enough room in your car or truck because the box makes the sub sound the way that is does if your box is to small it will sound like crap

A small box won't neccessarily make the sub sound like crap.

I've never dealt with or used anything Treo and I've never seen them in anything but pure SPL cars, leading me to believe they probably sound like crap.

SQ winners are frequently using JL W7 series. The only problem with them is the price. Alumapros are badass and you can get the cones custom engraved and I believe in whatever color you want. The Kicker L7s are really nice and loud as well.

Personally I use Diamonds. They are cheap, virtually indestructible and the SQ is excellent. If money wasn't an issue I'd probably have some Kicker Solo Xs or the quad voice coil Eclipse woofers.

SPL is sound pressure level also known as volume.
W7 is a reference to the JL Audio W7 line of woofers.

so, are the W7's on the higher end of JL's line, middle, or lower? also, have you had any experience with the treo stuff?

probally what you are seeing is that these subs are mainly for competition use, aka they can handle a lot of power and put out a lot of decibles, this doesn't mean that they sound good... Like mentioned above if you want something just to add some bass to yo tunes you can find something better out there... W7's are nice, but one or two JL W3's and a nice amp would probally make you happy...
