Question box size

I have some JL audio 12' suds w3 v2 in a 90 hatchback pony the only problem they tell me my box is to big that the jls do not need that much air space wanted to know if that was true if it is true what would be the deminsions of lenth, width, height,of the box i need.

Sealed? ~2 cu/ft will give you solid response. you can choose the dimensions to yield that volume.

JL Audio recommends 1.25cu ft sealed/woofer+dispalcement of 0.07 cu ft=1.32cu ft/woofer.
external dimensions with 3/4" wood could be 16.5x11.5x32.5=4500cu in/1728=2.628cu ft/2=1.324cu ft/driver.
Box can be any shape I was just trying to do the figures quickly.
