Dual Voice Coil Sub question

I currently have blown my 3rd JL Audio 12W0. I have talked with a shop and they told me that I should upgrade to a 12W3, and I should be fine. Of course they want $70 to change it out. I want to do it myself, but I have a question, Can I input the same signal into both inputs? Basically just tap off of one side and run it to the other?

Why do they call it "Common Sense" when it is so rare?

Depends on two things:
1. What is the ohm load of the W3? Dual 2 ohm, Dual 4 ohm, Dual 6 ohm?
2. What is the lowest ohm load your amp can handle?
I'll assume you're running either a two channel amp bridged or a mono amp.

I was looking at a Dual 6 ohm sub and the amp is an Xtant 202M 2 channel internally bridged mono. This puts it at 200 watts at 4 ohms. The output imedance for bridged says 4 to 8 ohms non bridged is 2 to 8 ohms. Here is a screenshot of the spec page.

You need to use the D2 and run it in series. Run the positive output from the amp to ONE positive terminal on the woofer. Run the negative of the amp to the opposite side negative terminal. Connect the negative of one terminal to the positive on the other terminal.
The woofer will come with wiring instructions and pictures.
D6 gives you either 3 ohm or 12 ohm. Neither will be good for your amp. D2 will give you 4 ohm so you will maximize output while not exceeding the amps capabilites.

I really appreciate it. How much would the D2 run? Do you carry it?

I hate it that I can't get on here at work, and ask questions throughout the day.
