any advice for new radio in old car?

I havea 1965 mustang and have a sony xplod head unit. I need to cut the metal dash to install this. Is there any hints or thangs to do that will make it easier faster and get the job doen right? The speakers fit the original sizes ( 6*9 in back and 6 1/2 in front) so they will be easy.

In a car like that...

I'd take it to a professional... They have the knowledge, tools and training to not mess it up... Not to mention its not your fault if anything happens...
Just a suggestion, 30-50 dollars out of your pocket can save a big f#ck up...

eclipse cd player, mb quart speakers and zuess 12s. Lets party now!
