Question RCA interconnect quality?

I've seen different varations of wires. Like take Esoteric Audio (streetwires), they have really cheap ones up to really expensive ones. Is there a difference or...recommend a decent set to me...?

Thanks,
Eric

I would be surprised if you can hear the difference from a $10 cable to a $40 cable but, the higher cables may provide better RF rejection from computers, ignition, etc. Plus, I like the metal ends. Sometimes the plastic ends get gooey on a big amp in the summer when you're hammering on it.

if you have a high volt preout then the nicer pair will improve the sound quality a little. On mine i had an eclipse deck with an 8 volt pre-out and i had both the cheap and the expensive rca's on it. if you just want to hook it up then the bestbuy 3.99 for 20 feet is just fine but the nicer ones just look better. I heard little difference between them.

I have a 4v out Clarion DSP so it isn't too terribly high.

160db huh, well I like being able to hear so my small PPI's suit me fine.

OK

About 5 years ago we built an Isuzu Trooper strictly for DBL drag:

Dash, doors, floor, sides and roof all lined with 1" or 3/4" MDF.
Front winshield replace with 1" lexan and braced with the same.
Side windows lined with 3/4" lexan.
Doors, dash and sides filled with expanding foam.
Dual 250amp alternators.
More freakin' 1/0 power wire than I can remember.
9 deep cycle batteries.
9 1 farad caps.
Custom made buss bars to connect bats and caps.
9 Kicker XS50 amps matched by Kicker (the max output of all the amps was within 8-10watts of each other).
18 15" custom made Kicker Comp VR's (Kicker made us 36, 2ohm subs just for this truck)
Total of about 4500 watts.

We totally ruined this truck, it was a 4X4 with a V-6, you had to put it in 4 wheel drive low just to get it on the trailer!!!!!
I have no idea how much it weighed but it prob. topped out at about 35 mph.

We took it to the IASCA and USAC finals in 96'. Greenville, SC and St. Louis.

The highest db the truck ever did in a DBL drag was 164, for about 1/2 second.

James

damn i would have like to heard that thing, its sounds pretty bad ass. The guy with the four kicker 12's was talkin shit about how bad he was so I had to show him up, I dont think he had it set up right but we had a sound off and I won. I know that kicker is badass thats why I am thinking the shop he bought it from didn't know what they were doing, I had one kicker 12 a long time ago and I loved it. Do you still have that trooper
