PPI says [email protected] They do not say that that amp is 2 ohm mono stable so I'll say 1400W amp. Still, it is a beast.

if it is one of the 2001's then you really have a beast. Those thing are rated at 1400x1 @4ohms but actually run around 2300x1 taking 14.4V! Have it sent out and tested and the results will blow your mind. PPI rock!

go to cartoys, they will help you with that and have it sent off. It'll cost some money though, and i don't remember how much.

I had the exact same one you are talking about and I had mine tested to actually see how much PPI underrates there amps. They say it is 1400x1 but mine actually pushed 2681x1 at 3.6 ohms. I put two JL 15w6s in a honda prelude that I used as my bass mobile and it f***in rocked.....I know people dont like to spend the money on PPI but it is really worth the extra bang for the buck.

hell yeah PPI is worth the money, put PPI with MB Quartz components and eclipse aluminum woofers for bass and you rock loud and hard.

Let me be the first to raise the BS flag. When trying to measure output power (watts) you first would have to have a constant load, not a dynamic load - i.e. a speaker/driver. As the speaker moves, the load (ohms) raise and fall very quickly (try hooking an ohm meter to a speaker and very slowly push in on the cone area, then from the bottom push it out away from the basket)

My question is how did you test your amp? We have been a PPI dealer for many years, and have sold hundreds of these amps and I don't want a crooked shop telling you something that is not true. It sounds like they were using fuzzy math.

Just my professional .02

Forgot to add this I had the sheet from the actual company that tested it showing the chart but when I sold the amp I gave the chart to them.

Unless the amp was sent to PPI I would not trust anyone else to give you accurate specs on that amp. Last time I checked PPI didn't give print outs of wattage output.

I first sold PPI in 1991. I have never seen a performance printout included with any amp from them. Also, the highest quote of additional output that I've heard from any PPI rep was about 10% above the rated power.
Why would you send an amp off to have it tested?
What was the input voltage?
What was the frequency range tested? 1K? 20-20K?
What impedance?
How long would it play a super low ohm load?
Like Rue said, testing with a resistor is not the same as testing with music.
Facts:
The amp is huge.
PPI is good stuff.
1400W is an amazing amount of power.
You better have a badass alternator and battery.

All that I know between everyone that is trying to put slow90vert down is that they don't know him and never heard the system. I'm good friends with the guy and not only would he not lie about this stuff but he works on systems just like supposedly half you guys do. I believe EW and a few other, Evil jose has bluntly stated he don't know shit, but quit giving shit unless YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN!!

He was doing comps. with his car and if we would have looked at the graph the way it sounded and what he was running, it probably was running about 2600.

Calm the f*** down

Look man, I've been a professional installer since 1991. To this day I can't listen to a system and "hear" how many watts it is running. Point is, Im feed up with all the "I've worked at an audio shop" or "Im certified by so and so." Then out comes all the misinformation due to lack of understanding all the different aspects of car audio.
If you have questions, ask the right people. If your not sure, don't bother giving out advice.

BTW- Im very calm, Just tired of reading quotes like "Dude! I just hit 160 db with one 15 inch woofer!!!" If thats true, I've got some by-nines you'll love.

Look I know where your coming from and I totally understand. I am not saying since I was certified or I have worked in a shop that I know it all. I am just trying to help people and voice my what I have dealt with. The place that I sent the amp to was Preformance Audio In California and they have been doing business for 20 years now. I know its hard to believe what some people say and I can understand that. But people are going to believe only the things that they want to believe and thats fine with me. I've only done this for six years and took one car to a comp. in tulsa and won a few bucks but that does make me a expert.

Uh, no it doesn't.
Car audio contests are not like the Olympics...just cause you win a few bucks, you are not limited to the expert class.

Uh news flash thats what I was trying to say. Just because you go to a comp. and win money doesnt mean you are a expert. I know alot but I dont know it all. Not to rub it in but I didnt just win a little money it was over 7500 dollars....But I didnt come on here to brag.
