Having trouble!!

I went to install a cd player in my 88 GT and it turns on and everything i just dont get any sound. It has the factory tape player in it and stock amp behind it. How do i hook it all up?

go to Best Buy and get the connections that go from factory to aftermarket..

Sounds like you just didn't hook the amp turn-on wire up. Find the turn on wire (yellow w/black stripe wire) on the factory amp and hook the power antenna lead up to it (or amp turn-on wire if your radio has one). Here's a schematic that might help. >>>> HERE

shouldnt i be able to use the amp thats in the cd player.

Yep, just bypass the factory amp and hook directly to the speakers from the new head unit.
