Sony CD Changer Question

I have an old Sony MDX-U1 and I was wondering if any Sony CD Changer will work with this or will certain years of Changers only work with certain year of receivers. Gonna see what I can find used and wanted to know what I have to look for.

I think the newest Sony stuff uses a connection called Uni-Link. Some manufacurers have compatability charts on their site.

Thanks again Eric! This is an old tuner so I'm sure it doesn't have that kind of capability. It's the first model of MiniDisc player that Sony ever came out with. Hell, I think we are talking about early 90's. I found an article on it on an old Car Stereo Review (is this magazine still around?) magazine that I have back when I was into car stereo stuff. Pretty good review.

Can someone find out if a Sony EXCD-3 CD Changer is compatible with a Sony MDX-U1 MD Tuner?

unleash the horse, I'd like you to get into further detail regarding your post. Are you saying that Sony uses just RCA cables for the changers? Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you.

Jose- I believe that what he means is that the sony uses a din type cable for control signals to the changer and rca cables for sound signal transfer.

Again.

<--- Old guy but still doesn't know shit

Now what other way would there be for the controller cable and sound transfer? My old Alpine used some kind of DIN plug also with RCA's.

No problem Jose- Some brands only use the din cable (combining the rca cable and control cable into one) and some brands seperate the cables. My guess would be that they had issues with signal and power cables in the same jacket.

Am I even comming close to helping with your question?
