i like sound quality.
[slater] its not the quanity its the quality[/slater]
one of the best sounding systems i ever had was in a chevy love with two 8" behind the seats,5 1/4" mid bas in the doors ans some componet tweeters on the dash.all going through a autotech crossover and a alpine 200watt amp.it did not hit real hard, but it was all balanced.

Easily SQ....what good is a system if it isn't well balanced... I hate systems where I can barely hear the words because of the bass. Don't get me wrong, I love bass, but you better have the mids and highs to go with it.

I used to be so into having thundering bass in my car back in the day. Luckily for my ears I grew out of that. Sound Quality gets my vote here to

Both... I developed my own style SPL/SQ 145 DB with it sounding like you are in the recording studio. Only downside is it costs more then most full blown cars. I have about 16 Gs in my damn stereo. Be nice if I could drive the F-in car...

both

but, imho, it is easier to compete in SPL than SQ

most SPL comps nowdays are like drag-racing, classes are divided and two people go at a time, biggest number wins

SQ is just too subjective

IMHO i think SPL takes no talent all you need is a lot of speakers and amps and some well built boxes.

now SQ on the other hand is a motha focker to compete in! some of the guys on here were comparing SPL to dragracing and don't get me wrong it is similar because two people go at once but that is about all.

SQ is exactly like drag racing for these reasons:

1: who ever has the most money to spend is most likely gonna win

2: because who ever tinkers around and tries different shit and actually puts time, blood, and sweat into it will most likely win

3rd and what makes SQ most like drag racing: you can waste your whole life savings in a week on parts

Quality! of course. But with quality come excessive money expenditures...

The only way to go is SQ. And the only way to do it is to have
tons of POWER.
