Can I use the XM radio antenna on my Silverado...

if I buy a new Alpine head unit that is XM ready considering my 04' Chevy silverado came stock with XM radio? Is the XM module built-into the delco radio from the factory or is it a stadalone box?

if it won't plug directly in, there is an adapter that will allow you to use the factory antenna.

Noo

To give you an overview.

1.) Pretty much all vehicles that SAT ready means just that. The radio is able to control a SAT reciever. The reciever and in most cases the antenna must be added seperate post build.

2.) With the growing popularity of SAT radio most 06 models are coming ready to go out of the box.

3.) IF your Alpine is SAT ready then it is a good possibilty there is a specific Alpine branded SAT reciever and antenna that can be purchased to utilize the this function of your radio.

Alpine no longer makes an XM tuner. However, Terk does and DEI makes an Alpine compatible Sirius tuner.

It is a standalone tuner but it will not plug into the Alpine deck.

Do you mean that Alpine doesn't make an XM specific tuner anymore? I thought the new SAT tuners mean you can pick which one you want.

DEI and Terk make receivers that plug into any /////Alpine "XM ready" or "SAT Radio Ready" deck. Alpine no longer makes the XM receiver but they do make the CDA-9820XM deck with the XM receiver built in.
