got a problem with speakers

I bought a used 02 GT with the mach 460 in it. the guy who had it before me had a system in it and he took it out and has stock speakers and stock tweeters in it. It has a panasonic head unit in it now. my question is I replace the stock speakers with some kickers speakers and the speakers wont come on. why is that and what do I need to do. It doesnt have any kind of bypass in the car. the only the thing that works are the tweeters. let me know what you think

Factory amps are not there, not on, or have no signal.

thats a hard problem to troubleshoot over the internet.

is the speaker grounded out to something by accident?

that car has a bypass plug behind the radio. it will go directly to the tweeters in the door, and in the rear. take those wires to your new 5x7s. better yet i would just run new speaker wire.
