Fitment question

Will the Kenwood DDX7015 or the Eclipse AVN2454 fit in a 2000 Lightning? Preferably without too many modifications.

Or am i going to have to go with a flip out?

TIA,
D

I thought crutchfield.com had fitment dimensions. You might wanna check out the website and see if they do or not.

have you used one of those radios? what is your goal out of the system?

I will try and find a few pics. They are just the in dash touch screen, no flip out. The Eclipse has the NAV and DVD player built in, and the Kenwood has the DVD, but you can add the NAV. I honestly just want something different, and i have always like the indash touch screens.

Im not really looking for performance, just show mainly. I have not used one, and ive actually only seen one in a car before. It is just something that caught my eye.

Are they any good? bad?

it is a slightly redesigned toyota OEM radio.

it is expensive yet lacks some of the features that have made Eclipse what it is today.

it is fairly user friendly, although head unit output is weak, aswell as having VERY low voltage RCA's.

I'm normally Pro Eclipse, but they dropped the ball on the performance of this head unit.

I think car toys has them in stock, if you wanna play with it.

You could do so much more with much less depending on your goals.

my goals are just looks. i hate to say that, but its the truth.

what unit would you recommend that does everything that either of those units do? and be better performance wise?

man, if your goal is just for looks, you will be just fine.

it's not a bad performing unit for what it is, but Eclipse doesnt seem to be wanting to tell people exactly what it is.

the kenwood may be a better option, but i'd look into an alpine first.

personally, i'd get a nice eclipse CD indash head unit, and put a screen elsewhere.

I am kind of limited on space to put a screen. and im not looking for a real custom stereo system or anything. just simple.

BTW: This is a 2000 Lightning.

i was looking at some pictures of that dash, and it SHOULD fit, but be warned, the unit does not come with any sort of mounting apparatus or trim ring.
