NE1 familar with Phoenix Digital head units?

Looks like an Alpine clone, loaded with features & sells for less than $100. I know the purist will cry "JUNK!" but anyone hear of these? Are they reliable?

I have never heard of them.
Yeah, at $89 you know it is going to be good.
The manufacturer is making a profit, the distributor is making a profit and Ikesound is making a profit. How much could it really cost?
I'll pass.

I did more research on the internet, and Phoenix Digital is regarded as "decent" and "reliable"". I know everyone makes a cut, but get real, virtually all car audio under $400 is made in China by slave labor. A CD headunit turns a digital code into music, they all have 20-20K Hz response. So if you factor out extra features, it comes down to unit reliability and possibly it'a ability not to skip over bumps.

I don't buy Nike or other "famous" sport shoes either.....they sell for $75-$150, but the factory in China produced them for $4.50, and that same factory made the $20 shoes I buy at Payless.

i don't think that is ENTIRELY true, however to a certain extent you are right.
however, every single piece of lowend brand head units that i have touched were just flaming hunks of crap.

i would just get an entry level pioneer, or something similar, if you want a decent head unit on the cheap.

I disagree. There are many differences in quality especially with DA converters and loose tolerances. There is a diffence between junk and decent product.
