LMAO, Marsh screws up another LS1 car!

Crappy work at Arlington Motor Sports

Quote:
Well thanks to the great mechanics at Arlington Motor Sports (Chris), I have a 600 dollar bill from the dealer because AMS did not know how to put a wheel back on correctly after a spring install. Keiths mom refused to reimburse for the damage they caused to my 2000 Trans Am WS6. Also would like to note about the poor customer service seeing as how we left them a message about what happened after christmas and was never called back. Then when confronted in person with the bill, the fat lady decides that she runs the show and its not her fault. Can we say shotty business?? Well they will be hearing from my attorney shortly.
What happened? Did a wheel fall off?

He may or may not have done it. I have seen people try to work on their own cars and when they mess it up they blame the last person who worked on it to see if they will pay for their own screw up. With something like that it is hard to say what really happened. Sucks regardless.

I welded relocation brackets on. I took the back two wheels off, welded them, and reinstalled the wheels. I know for a fact I tightened the back wheels, because one of the other guys was standing right there with me when I did. I don't know the whole story on what happened, but aparrently a lug was lose, or something...and I saw the dealership ticket that charged 480+ labor to fix two studs. Possibly someone tried to steal his wheels or something?

When I first installed my Monsoons.. they were torqued down properly. But.. less than a week later, they were finger loose on the frt left wheel. That was some scary shit. Couldn't really blame the installer b/c I saw them torque the wheels down. Guess I should have had them torqued back down after 50 miles or so... but... 50.. 200.. figured it wasn't that much of a difference. Doh!

I wil never ever ever ever buy anything or have ANYTHING to do with AMS. I hope Kieth Moore goes bankrupt and has to shut his doors, and hopefully Mr. Marsh goes with him! They fuck up cars just like Ewing Pontiac fucks up LT1's/LS1's!!! My neighbor couldn't even get his skip-shift eliminator installed correctly on his SS at AMS!! lol They installed it where it locked-out reverse!! If they can't install that correctly, do you want them working on your car?????

hey ladies!

that is a pretty common practice for the dealerships. lol, they mark up parts 500%, then install them for 10 times the fee that any decent garage will do it for. i wouldn't take my car to a dealership unless it was under warranty.

I'm not defending or bashing anyone. But, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO RE-TORQUE YOUR LUGS AFTER ABOUT 30-60 MILES AFTER REINSTALLING WHEELS. Things like this CAN happen if you don't. Especially in this type of weather - cold, warm, etc...

On a side note, I have replaced a stud on the rear of a WS6 that only took about 15 minutes. A stud that snapped as I was torqing the lug down on it. Not cross-threaded or anything. I unscrewed the lug right back off of it. The thing just snapped... Made me check all of my studs. GM's...

all i have to say is that guy is lucky BJ didnt put the wheels on

someone needs to tell this guy "THAT'S RACING"!

so the question is, did Chris fuck up, i doubt it. has he fucked up in the past? yes, just like we all have. Does Keith deserve to have his ass kicked? YES, but i think its illegal to kick the ass of someone under 4 feet tall, so i guess this guy is SOL. have a nice day.

Well bash what you want. There have been 10 times more satisfied cust's come out of that shop than complaints. Where was your post about Sean messing up at fastech; and bashing them david? I think you have something personal against Chris or AMS. Personaly I would have not posted the same if it was someone from Fastech. All I have to say is I still buy my car parts from AMS and will for as long as I race. The knowledge at that shop is bar none; and the job is always done right if you are not trying to go about things the cheapest way like some custs.
