Lo-Jack.

How many of you would be interested in a Lo-Jack group purchase? I have contacted them, hopefully they will be in touch within a day or two. In light of the recent Mustang thefts I have been considering one of their systems. Let me know what you all think and I will post back with whatever info they send me regarding a group purchase. Thanks!!

How many people interested in Lo-Jack GP?

I have made a contact at Lo-Jack. I have been inquiring about getting a group purchase recently. The LJ systems cost $695 or something like that, and if we can get 10 people all in one location for a day to do the installs we could get a pretty decent discount. The more people the better. I thought with all of the cars that have been stolen over the last year or two this might be a worthwhile effort. I know if some POS steals my car, I want to not only get it back in one piece, but get them as well. This seems like the way to do it. Post up if you think you would be interested that way I can take the number of interested parties back to Lo-Jack and see what kind of deal we can work out. Those of you that have full coverage insurance, most companies offer significant discounts if you have Lo-Jack installed. Thanks all!

$695. From talking to them, I imagine that we can get a pretty decent discount if we can all meet up at one location so they don't have to travel much to do all of our cars. They take about 20 minutes to install. So I figure we can easily do 10 or 15. I will post up again as soon as I talk to them and see what kind of deal they are willing to work out. $695 is STEEP to me, so I hope they are going to make a nice offer. We will see

For anyone who knows.....

Question about lojack?

Can they put it on a boat and/or a motorcyle? I know alot of construction vehicles are equipped with lojack...i just haven't found anywhere (including lojack.com) that has an answer.

I don't see why not, but hey you never know.

I am not sure about the boat and motorcycle thing, I will ask and post up tomorrow.

Thanks all!

Sorry I don't have info yet. I work 12 hour nights 6p to 6a so it's hard to find time to talk to these people. I did send an email and I am going to call Monday morning. I will post up as soon as I get info. Thanks for your patience.

hey man,

I just want to thank you for doing all this for us without asking for an extra hand. Let us know if there is anything us 'day dwelers' can do for you. I do know that if we all do meet us it will be at their location due to privacy of the installation. I am still VERY VERY interested and keep us updated.

LOL. Once, on COPS, they tracked down a portable gas powered Ingersol-Rand air compressor. It was a big one on wheels like you would use for a jackhammer. It cost like $5000. It had a lojack on it. The cops just followed the scanner they had to a garage door. When they opened it, hidden behind some other stuff, there it sat. What was funny is that the guy who owned it had just bought it that day because he was replacing his last one that was also stolen. He decided to put the lojack on it. The cops also got the thief.

I'm also interested. Do you know how much the monthly subscription is?

there is no monthly payment. You just pay for the install and you (the car) are permently in their system and will always be traced when you call the police to activate your signal. At least, thats the way i remember it.
Just check the website.

I left a message with my contact there this weekend with approx number of people and units, etc. I am expecting a call on Monday. I am sorry to have kept all of you waiting, please accept my apology. I will post up Monday or Tuesday with the info.

I organized a LoJack GP in Aug of '00 and I paid $310 installed.

But, out of the 25 people that said they wanted in on it, only 3-4 people actually did it. It really made DFWStangs look bad. So, if you are tossing in the sites name for credibility, I would avoid it as we are probably not percieved very well with LoJack due to all the flakes from that GP.

I'll buy a lowjack system if you can get it down to 300, and if you can, I WILL be there. I don't want my car stolen AGAIN!

I was going to say that is high!
But yeah, my neighbor is an installer is how I got the hook up last time.
It was too hard to try and get it all arranged because everyone had to be in 1 location, and had to be 1 payment so that GP just died.....

I had it installed in my car when I first bought it. It was like $500, and that was at the dealership. Plus if Lojack doesn't find your car, they pay you like $5,000 or something like that. I want it for my other car so if ya'll can get a good deal, I'm in.
