Is anyone interested in a GP on modular forged shortblocks?
i asked this on the corral as well. i haven't asked any shops yet, but i was just wondering if anyone would be interested. i was planning on purchasing one sometime this month, but if other's are interested and need some more time, that will be fine, because i'm in no hurry.

i have several people that are interested on the corral. this could turn into a really beneficial thing for anyone out there seriously considering purchasing a forged shortblock in the future.
i am also going to check on a GP for the ported and pollished heads and cams. let me know if you have any suggestions.thanks, brad |

alright, i talked to steve at houston performance, and it looks like we are looking at $3,100.00 for the built shortblock with JE pistons, Eagle H-Beam rods, Forged 8-Bolt Cobra Crank, balanced with ARP hardware, etc. all of this in a windsor block. i checked with dss, and their $2,995.00 price is only on a romeo block. the windsors are $3,300.00. he is supposed to get back with me on some other prices as well. here are the interested parties so far. if you are not on the list, and would like to be, please pm me.
thanks, brad interested parties: 1. myself 2. Sagres (corral.net) 3. tebone626 (corral.net) 4. dhg1667 (corral.net) 5. Peeweec5 (corral.net) 6. Flowjack (from dfwstangs.net) 7. Got Boost (from dfwstangs.net) |

![]() i talked to DSS, and they had the same price on the windsor block as houston performance.($3,100.00) their romeo block is cheaper, but it isn't as strong as the windsor block.(different mains) anyway, it looks like we will be able to pretty much choose whom we want to deal with, and be able to save some cash at the same time. i'm still waiting on a few others to come forth with their information, but that's where we stand right now. Oh yeah, Houston Performance AND DSS said that if we get 10+, we could save even more![]()

i got all the info to brad as well. when you contact keith craft, speak to jason, and tell him you are part of the dfw stangs or corral group purchase on these 4.6 shortblocks. i worked with jason and he spoke at length with keith on this, and they decided to do it. so congrats guys. ive known keith and the rest of his bunch forever, and i can say that their motor is whats in my car and what will always be in my own car. period. he does the motors for doug mangrum, who i worked on his pit crew in 2001, he does bart toebners motors and just got joe dasilva as well. he does an awful lot of nhra guys as well. and some hot street and street bandit guys too. anything that yall want to do a group purchase on, let me know. he is direct with just about everyone. this is from cams to blowers to nitrous to heads, just about anything power related you could ask for. i have nothing to gain from this, just really believe in him and his company. they have always been fantastic to me. no excuses, no games, just a great deal, and treat you right. pm me or post up what you need and are ready to buy, and ill work it for you. just glad to help my fellow board members, and put them with a company i know extremely well.

I talked to Steve for you guys and if you set up at least 5 cam regrinds he will do it for $415. That is $60 off what they normally sell for, this will be a one time deal and they will be back to normal price. This will be good til the end of the month and we will need at least 5. It can be blower or n/a but does have to be a two valve.
I tried to work something out on the porting but there is really not enough room. It goes for $750 for the port and polish and five angle valve job. This is a very well proven combo. Also to give you a choice on the motor's he can still do $3,100 with at least 3 orders. As far as shipping goes we go there quite a bit and we can probably figure something out. I am just giving you guys some options. That is a damn good deal that they have worked out but with our cost we just can't go that low. If any of you are interested you can pm me or call me to something up. (214)498-6856 Manny HPP Racing |

4v cobra heads? they wont fit on a 2v block. you have to get a 4v block. they are building stout 4.6 4v motors as well. dont know any prices on those. this g/p is for 2v all forged internal shortblocks. do you need a motor? post up if so and ill find out for you.

You can put 4v heads on a 2v block. You will end up with a very heavy engine cuz the 4v heads weigh like another 60-70lbs over 2v. If you used the same dish as a GT the comp. would be very low but you can always tell them you want flat tops and it would be around 10:1.

INSANESTANG, yes the motor has 17cc dished JE pistons, and the cobra crank is forged. the price is $3,000.00 shipped, and you should contact Jason Bryant with Keith Craft at (870)246-7460.

on a 4V motor with 17cc pistons, i think the compression would be in the 8:1 range.

Forged shortblock for 4v's
I have talk this over with Steve from Houston Performance. We will also include 4v's in the group buy. What it will consist of is building a forged shortblock using your good aluminum block and your good cobra crank. Basically you give us your good or blown cobra motor and we will give you a forged shortblock including 3 different choices on pistons JE flat tops, JE 9cc dish, and JE 17cc dish. It will also have Eagle h-beam rods, ARP mainstuds, all machine work and the assembly balanced. The price for this will be $2,650 which is $250 off the reg. price for this.
pm or call me for any questions or for ordering. Manny HPP Racing (214)498-6856 |
