Yes, I have one. It is a decent stereo, but I recently started having problems with the 6-disc changer. Sometimes, the CD's get jammed and dont want to come out. I posted it on BON and of course I am the only one in North America that is having these problems. When I get a chance it is going to the dealer [shudder] to get looked at. My daily driver's stereo (read: 100% totally loaded 1999 chevy silverado extended cab truck (do I need heated seats in Texas?) that work pays for) works fine so I'm not too worried about it yet.

I think the 01 setup adds an in dash cd changer. That's the only difference I could see.

No, I am not looking to buy one. I was talking “Tim” that works at Visteon and he said they designed the electronics for the Ford 2001 Mach 460 system. He also said they had been working with Kenwood for a few of their 2001-02 head units.
Tim wanted some feedback on the 2001 Mach 460 system. So, I started telling him all about my 89’s stock stereo. He didn’t think that was too funny. Anyway, I did tell him I would try to get a few opinions about the Mach 460 from owners on this board. |

I have a Mach 460 in a 2000 Mustang 'Vert and
I have one in a 2001 Escape - they sound the same to me, but the 2000 is only a single CD changer versus the new 2001 is a 6 disc cd changer in one unit (2000 is two units) PS - I have a Delco Bose system in my Vette, while I am no audiofile, I would say they both sound great. One feature the Mach needs is speed senseing volume control. |
