Actually, I didnt notice much performance increase between the two, if your going to get a card, order a GeForce 4 TI 4200, they are around $120 and are bad fucking ass.

This is actually a good question. I have a geforce2 and I can play any game on it that I want with very good performance. I believe a gf4 is a revamped gf2 under a different name. But I am not sure what those differences are.

GeForce 4 MX are the cheapies, any TI GeForce card ( 3 or 4 ) will blow away a MX card.

Here is a decent order that the speed goes in.

Geforce
Geforce 2MX
Geforce 4MX
Geforce 3 TI
Geforce 4 TI

Yes, GeForce 4 TI will blow away a GeForce 2 card.

Oh yeah, there is a substantial frame rate diffrence between the two when you start getting to 1280X1024 and above with 32bit color.

Geforce 2 Ti = Memory Interface: 128-bit DDR
Pixels per Second: 1 Billion
Memory Bandwidth: 6.4GB/s
Triangles per Second: 31 Million

GeForce4 Ti 4400 = Vertices per Second: 125 Million
Fill Rate: 4.4 Billion AA samples/sec.
Operations per Second: 1.12 Trillion
Memory Bandwidth: 8.8GB/Sec.
Maximum Memory: 128MB

As you can see, the GF4 clearly has alot more computing power behind it.

Just curious, why not an ATI Radeon or AIW?

We have had more problems/returns with the Geforce cards.

I have had the opposite experience with ATI.
