Videocard Prices??

Well my computer at home has a bad video card in it now so it wont show any picture on the screen and i no NOTHING about the internals of a computer so i was wondering how cheap could i find a videocard at say Fry's and is it hard to put in or should i let someone else do it for me??

It really depends on what you want from a video card and how much you are willing to spend. Check out Fry's website www.outpost.com and do a search for wideo cards. I would recommend a geforce4 card. I am sure I can find one for under $100.

They are not difficult to put in, just find an empty slot, stick it in, plug your monitor into it and reboot. Make sure you take out your old one unless it is intergrated into the motherboard. Windows should find it and load the new drivers for you. You will also more then likely get instructions for this with the card.

Sounds easy but the problem is that my old computer has like 300mhz ....yes i know it is ancient so im thinking i should just suck it up and put the stang on hold for maybe one more week and buy just a new PC since i dont need the mouse or speakers or keyboard!!???

Clay, I can put you together a bad ass computer without monitor for about $400 or so. Something not as extreme, but still caught up to today's standards will set you back about $300. You pay for the parts, and give me your old computer for all the labor, I'd consider it an even trade. Just let me know if your truley intrested.
