DSL delayed response.
I have the VZAvenue dsl service. It has recently started to hang when I change web pages. This lasts for up to 90 seconds. I have tried the command/ping thing and it reports no errors even when the ping waits the same amount of time to respond. Any suggestions?
Thanks Scott

It sounds like one of the DNS server for your ISP is not responding. If its set to DHCP, there isn't much you can do about it if they have it misconfigured or one if their servers is down.
What OS do you have, there are some test we can do to see which one isn't working and get around it. -Chris |

You can bypass the DHCP DNS servers in windows 98 by going into your network properties, then the prop's for your tcp/ip adapter and put these in, 4.2.2.1, 4.2.2.2, 4.2.2.3 These are the good verizon dns servers that I know of, I dont think they have had any issues with those in a long time. Are you using any firewall software that could be slowing the connection speed down? Also check and make sure you have nothing checked under tools, internet options, connections tab in internet explorer.
