OK, ya'll....don't shoot me for posting this, but I think some of you might be interested. I am on the Crowley Police Department National Night Out Organization Committee, and it has been suggested to extend an invite to DFWStangs members. National Night Out is a Police/Community function and is being held this year in August. I will post the specific date Saturday. We would like to invite ya'll to show your cars. This would be a GREAT P.R. opportunity for us, to let the public and the fuzz know what we are all about and who we are. If you are interested, please respond to this post and I will check it daily and post info as I get it. This will be a great community service opportunity for all of us, so join in.....btw, if ya'll don't know, Crowley is directly south of Fort Worth on FM 1187.

k, here's the specs:
Saturday, August 4th - 6pm til 10pm All models welcome, any condition, we dont want to leave anyone out. Yes bring your rustang, we could make a sign for it saying "This is your Mustang on Crack" LOL. Front LP is up to you, they cant ticket you for it unless they see you driving anyway, and if its parked?!?!?!? Does anyone want to make a DFWStangs.net banner or sign? Also, I think if we are going to be showing our cars, you should bring a spec sheet to display on your car, so it looks more like an actual show. Maybe we could get someone to do those too. Any volunteers? I am not sure if we would have to pay for a booth, if so, its only about $35, so I'm sure we could all pitch in $5 each for sign and booth. Thats not too expensive. A cruise would be cool, and there is a Sonic there we could all meet at to round everyone up and make our entrance at 6pm. So meet up at Sonic by 5:30pm, and be ready to cruise in by about 5:50pm. How does that sound? The address for Sonic is 105 N Crowley Rd, Crowley, TX 76036. I will contact them to set up the meet and make sure its gonna be cool. I'm sure this post will be moved to Weekly Gatherings, right jose? So make sure to look for it there for updates and info. ------------------ 1999 Expedition It aint the years, its the miles... |

It's only a couple miles to one of the fastest 1/2 miles of straight, flat and smooth slightly downhill peices of concrete on earth. And yes it's marked for the 1/4.

I won't tell, but I'll show ya, It's a pretty obvious place but easy to split out of if the cops show. Another place about 3 miles away, good for a while, but alot of the businesses have security there and report it real quick.

LATEST UPDATE 06/26/2001:
We have to have the cars IN PLACE by 5pm, because the gates to the public open at 6pm. So cruising in for the public is out. We can meet at Sonic at 4pm-4:15pm and then cruise over to the site at 4:30. It will be a $20 fee for advertising, not $35. I need an approximate head/vehicle-count by July 12th, so please pm me by then if you plan to go. I need an exact head/vehicle count by July 15th. So plase pm me or email to RedNekGirl@att.net, I will post more updates as I get them. *Important* I need an un-official head count by tomorrow, Thursday, June 28, so please pm me by 4pm on 06/28, instead of posting, it will be easier to count that way. Also, did anyone want to volunteer to make signs? We need a DFWStangs.net banner and some spec sheets for the cars/vehicles. If you have any suggestions for this event, please post, post, post! ------------------ 1999 Expedition It aint the years, its the miles... |

AMEN!!!!!! I am sick and tired of hearing you Dallas boys bitch about coming to Fort Worth!!!
This site is called DFWstangs for a reason...you Dallas guys rarely come to Fort Worth or have any gatherings in the FW area. Us FW guys have nice cars too, and we have lots of great places to race without getting fucked with by the cops, plus all of us who do live over here come to your events in Dallas and dont often bitch about it, so just shut the fuck up about having to drive across town once in a while to go to a show. We do it all the time!! You know why?? Because we love our cars and we love to drive them, so maybe it might be nice to see a little support from the Dallas crowd about a Fort Worth event for a change! Love ya and love the site! ------------------ Cory Lee '91 GT red w/silver stripes Cobra R's |

I will personnally go to the houses of a coupla local peeps I know of who happen to have huffers sitting on these little SVT creations and drag their scrawny asses out there. I would like to see as many people as possible out there, I am going to talk to a couple of guys I know who don't even have computers and see if we can get a couple of their cars out there. I know, we aren't cooking out, we can't be chugging beer, or scoping out the bikinis, and this isn't a normal GTG, but it is good PR, and the public may be suprised to see that we aren't all little dirty, living hand to mouth, no job having, living for the moment, and screw anyone who gets in our way, druts. I have met quite a few extremely nice, clean professional, people at the GTG.
A public showing of our cars would be a real eye opener, this is one of the most diverse, multi-cultural group of car enthusiasts I have ever seen. Our discriminatory lines don't fall along skin color, religion, or sex. They fall along make of car, power adder of choice, and sexual orientation (Leon's Lovers or not). I know this is a pretty good drive for the dallas people, but I drive my stang over there, may bring it Sunday to the MMCM, hell it's a Daily driver. I don't think it would be much different than driving to Ennis, which is a easy 50 mile drive. Anyways, I would like to see a bunch you guys there. ------------------ If speed kills, Ricers will live forever |

Had our committee meeting tonite and decided on the following:
***********CAR SHOW***************** This is going to be a full fledged car show, with competitions and awards. Tentatively, $5 to show your car, and an additional $5 to compete for awards. Awards will be given at 10pm; this was the only time slot left open. There is another car club (vintage) that will be joining us, so this will be an even bigger turnout than expeected. More People=More Money=Better Prizes. We will be taking public votes to award prizes, I will update ya'll on award categories later on. The public will vote after making a donation. All left over proceeds will go to the CPD DARE program. ***************PRIZES********************** Each person/vehicle paying the $5 fee to show will be entered in a drawing for door prizes. A MAJOR door prize will be drawn for at the 10pm Awards Announcement. *********ADVERTISEMENT********************* I will go ahead and pay the $20 advertisement fee and reimburse myself from the proceeds made the day of the event. This $20 fee will include listing of DFWStang.net on all sponsor/event announcements announcements also, we will be included on the T-Shirts, which will be on sale the day of the event also. **********GTG******************************* Because of the the increase in the number of cars showing, we are moving our Get Together site from Sonic to Crowley High School. The address for CHS is 1005 W Main St, Crowley 76036. Please plan to be there no later than 4PM. We will need to get everyone organized and signed up. I will try to keep our group together as best as possible, but if some of you are not going to compete, then we need to have seperate rows, so as not to confuse the public for voting purposes. So, start thinking now what category you would like to be in, if you want to compete. Once we meet up at the highschool, I will give each competing car a number for voting, and a spec sheet for all participants. We will then cruise to the community center at 4:45pm. Cruise will be organized by where you will be parking. ***********TIMES***************** VERY IMPORTANT--We have to be in place by 5PM, this means parked, not driving around in circles trying to figure out where we need to be. At 5pm, they are LOCKING the gates and the public will be let in at 6PM. The event ends at 10PM at which time they will UNLOCK the gates for us to leave. In other words, once you park and they lock the gates at 5pm, you WILL NOT be able to leave until 10pm when the gates open back up. Awards will not be announced until 10pm anyway, so you will have a good reason to stay. ************SPEC SHEETS******************* I will be working with TXFrog1999 on a form, to be filled out by you the day of the event, or maybe we can email it to you or post it here, either way, Everyone will have the same form to fill out. This will be easier than making a seperate sheet for each person. Also, some people that are going to be there are not members here. TxFrog1999, what do you think?(pm me and let me know) ************HEAD COUNT********************* I need a definate head count by July 12th, so we will know how much space we need for parking. Now that I am actually putting together a real show with trophies, awards and prizes, you peeps that live a ways out have a better reason to drive this far. This will be a GREAT opportunity to show your car, serve the community and win stuff! Please rsvp via pm and I will update the confirmed list this weekend. So now that we are going to be giving stuff away if you show up, you have no reason NOT to be there! ******Also for all those with sick or injured rides, I am thinking of creating a Trailer Queen category for the competition. So now you have ABSOLUTELY no reason not to show up. (man, I hate double negatives) ------------------ 1999 Expedition It aint the years, its the miles... |

There is a space limitation for the show, so we must limit the number of vehicles entered to 100. We will take entries by order of registration. Voting will be conducted by the public for Trophy Classes and Best of Show. Award Classes will be voted on by those who are entered, i.e. judging 100 vehicles by 100 participants. Classes are:
Trophy Classes: Vintage Stock, Vintage Modified, Late-Model Stock and Late Model Modified, Best of Show. These votes will be from participants (100 peeps) and public. Award Classes: Wildest, Ugliest, Beauty Queen, Project, Mustang, Camaro/Firebird, Corvette, Truck, Convertible, Ford, GM, Mopar and Import. These awards will be voted on by participants. Remember we can only take the first 100 vehicles, so be sure to register early. Registration funds due at staging 4pm at CHS the day of the event; $5 to participate, additional $5 to compete for Trophies/Awards. **Also, Special thanks to TXFrog1999 and Ron Talley (w/ Crowley High School) who will be co-orgainzers, along with myslef, for this event. I would like to express my appreciation in advance for your efforts. Also, can't wait to see you all there, this event is going to be the bomb!!!!! ------------------ 1999 Expedition It aint the years, its the miles... News Flash!!!!!! Any and All cars entered who cruise in with the group from the high school will be exempted from most infractions, They do want mufflers, and windshields, No Tickets for slicks, no wipers, front plates, or registration/inspection stickers. WW went out on a limb and the Chief has ok'd it. But you have to go in with the group to be exempted.
