Sleeper or advertise what you got?

Short of a little more fine tuning, I'm pretty much at the end of the road on my car. It started life as a 2000 mustang GT, but now has a built 4v with a Turbo pushing over 500rwhp/rwtq. I've got the itch to mess with something on it and was thinking about changing the badges.

You can see pics here: http://www.mymustangsite.com/Jonny00GT/gallery/2/ The only change is the rims are chrome and no spoiler as far as the outside goes. Walking by in a parking lot you may think it's just a V6 if you don't know mustangs.

So...I'm trying to decide, do I let people know what I have:

Honestly, I love them! I have a 2yr old and putting the door up makes it sooo much easier to get him in the car seat in the back! It also makes life easier when someone parks a little too close!

I say leave the V6 badges, I dont like the strips on the door and side. Loose the lambos, and buy a set of 01-04 headlights. Loose the spoiler. I have a really clean red one if you are interested.

A clean red deck lid with no spoiler holes? Or do you mean red spoiler? I pulled the spoiler off this last weekend. Just gotta fill the holes or find another lid. I don't want a spoiler.

No the spoiler, you did you plug it? I just went to autozone and bought automotive plugs, and put the in and then shot a little silicone in the holes from the bottom side. The 01-04 stock headlights are sex.

I had the spoiler moved back and 12 plugs would just be too much, I think. I'm gonna fill the holes and get it painted.

I used touch up paint and you could barely tell they were there. It didnt leak either. I say get a set of 01-04 headlights, they will look great and keep the stock look. It will also make it look like a newer V6.

Hm...I may do that. Painting plugs sounds like less work than filling holes and having the whole deck lid painted!

What do you think about a V6 hood...the ones with no scoop or reverse scoop?

If you are going sleep that hood looks fine. I personally like that hood with the scoop, but if you are seeking sleeper, thats a good hood for sleeper. If you could tone the exhaust down, now that would be a good way of getting people to race you.

Honestly, the turbo does a pretty decent job of keeping the exhaust pretty muffled till about 3000rpm. I don't have to turn the radio nearly as loud as I use to with the blower, LTs, prochamber and dumped flow paths!

while the doors arent my cup of tea, in fact i would classify them as a nightmare i guess as long as you like it and i dont have to drive it do whatever you want.

I did start this thread cause I wanted to know what guys on here thought about car badges. I know Ford has a slew of 4.6 badges with, "Turbocharged", "Supercharged", "Interceptor", etc under them in chrome, black, red and blue and I kinda like the "V" through the "8", but I didn't want to spend the money, pull the existing ones off and then hate it. I'm kinda stuck in between too cause the car is a GT, but the motor and IRS are from a Cobra, so GT badges don't make sense and Cobra badges wouldn't look right either.

Honestly, I thought the execution of the doors was a fascinating project. I realize it's not for everyone, but who wants a car just like everyone elses? There are sooooo many mustangs out there!!! Too, the doors really do make it easier to get the kids in and out of the car, especially if someone parks a little close. Hell, I hurt my back about a year ago and those doors were a life saver! I could turn around, sit down and then swivel into the seat rather than that one legged limbo dance we've all had to do when someone parks a little close! Much worse in cars with longer doors like the T/A my Ex use to drive!

I personally like the sleeper look .. Not a fan of the "Halo" headlights or the stripes on the side ..

and "lambo doors " I Laugh at that since Lambo doors open like this ..

so doesnt that mean All cars have "Lambo doors" now

But its your car do what you want ..

I would paint the plugs before I spent 400+ getting the trunk filled and painted..

and Badge less would be my choice...

Man, I really wanted to go badgeless initially too, but Ford put those alignment holes on the quarters and on the trunk! Suppose I could use more plugs painted to match...anyone got pics of of plugs on the quarters??

Not a fan of the "Halo" headlights or the stripes on the side .. and "lambo doors " I Laugh at that since Lambo doors open like this .. so doesnt that mean All cars have "Lambo doors" now But its your car do what you want ..
