SCT livewire tuner feedback

So i bought the sct livewire tuner from dallas mustang 2 years ago. Straight out of the box it was a piece of shit. The first time i used it, it immobilized my vehicle for several hour because apparently it had been sitting on dallas mustangs shelf for a very long time and had some old ass software on it. After i got it updated i was able to tune my car but about half the features on it have never worked and it has always randomly frozen up. Its been in my closet every since then and i got it out the other day to check a trouble code. When i plugged it in it worked for about 30 seconds and then froze up. I unplugged it for a minute and tried again but all i got was a solid black screen. So i put it away for several days and tried it again with the same results, it froze and then went to a black screen. I just got off the phone with their tech support and after being on hold for over an hour they told me i can send it in for $65 and they might be able to fix it. However there is a chance that they wont be able to fix it and t will still cost $65. I have a turbo kit ready to install but for obvious reason i wont put it on until i get a reliable tuner. Has anyone else had similar problems with their livewire tuner?

Haven't used the Livewire. I have the Xcalibrator3. Got it due to recommendations from a lot of people in the know on mustang tuning.

My LiveWire works just fine. I bought the XCal 3 and the Pro Racer's Package from D'Agostino Racing over a year ago and I've used it TONS over the past couple of months to tune my car. No complaints at all. It's a badass program.

And to the thread starter, if it was a piece of shit right out of the box, common sense tells me to take it back and get it swapped out for one that wasn't a piece of shit. Either that, or you're doing something wrong.

After i updated it, it worked well enough to tune my car which is really all i wanted out of it. I stored it for a little over a year and now it does not work at all. Inconveniently for me, they only come with a one year warranty. As far as using it incorrectly, its hard to do that when it freezes up before you even get a chance to select the option "tune vehicle".

I bought one (SCT Livewire) for my FGT, I had it loaded with a custom tune, which I was able to upload to my car, but the rest of it has been useless...I've finally just given up on it. I wish I could get my money back.

Damn. I'm glad I don't have problems with it like y'all do. It runs absolutely perfect on my laptop.
