Marine beats mentally challenged man.

***Video is a lil brutal. Don't watch it if you are at work or a lil squimish.***

LiveLeak.com - Mentally Challenged Man Beaten to Death[/url]
Vid is making its round on the net...the "dojo master" and black belt guy have already taken down their facebook and myspace pages as they are getting threats and being harassed.

HERE is a summary post of the events regarding the video from www.bullshido.com.

It is very concise and accurate: From Bullshido:

Here is a summary I sent to some media sources. It already seems a bit out dated as this story is moving fast:

Quote:
Last week a video poped up on youtube (it has now been removed, but is still viewable elsewhere) posted by a Dumfries, Virginia martial arts instructor named Bobby Joe Blythe. The video, while only just posted last week for the first time, was filmed in 1984 and highlighted the near fatal assault of a yet unamed mentally challenged man by one of Blythe's students named Willie J Dennis. Since 1984, Mr Dennis has accumulated a bit of a rap sheet for domestic violence, battery, and assault with a deadly weapon...with a court appearance as recent as August 18th or this year. It may be that Mr. Dennis still teaches martial arts in Florida.

In the video, which is the closest thing to a snuff film I have seen, a clearly mentally challenged man who believes he is a martial artist trained by Jesus is lured into teaching a martial arts "lesson" at Mr. Blythe's dojo (now closed). Circumstances which led the man into the dojo are unconfirmed. However, on the youtube page, Blythe bragged about the incident. The victim, who clearly had no intention to fight anyone, was subsequently beat to the point of severe head trauma, breathing difficulties, and blood loss, despite his continual protests that he was not interested in fighting. After the victim is left with labored breathing and bleeding head woulds (from foot stomping against a mental surface) on the floor, he is dragged out of the gym. Mr. Blythe then proudly videotapes the trail of blood left from dragging the victim out of his gym.

What happened subsequent to the assault is not known. It has not been confirmed if the victim is dead or alive, or who he was. What is known is that Blythe and Dennis (two USMC Veterans - Blythe a Vietnam Vet) were never charged for the crime and that members of the local sheriff's department were students at Mr. Blythe's dojo at the time...and possibly present to witness the assault (there were several witnesses evident in the video). There is suspicion that the crime may have been covered up, but no facts to that effect yet.

Why the video was now posted 25 years later is a mystery. Furthermore, during the same period (1980's), Mr. Blythe has been highlighted in People Magazine and on the Today show in the past with regard to a bodyguarding course for women he used to teach.

The today show clip can be viewed here (you can see Blythe and the dojo are the same as in the assault video):

We (interested parties and volunteer journalistic, legal and law enforcement persons) on Bullshido have been trying to establish Mr. Blythe's whereabouts and spread the word to any current students he may have via the internet martial arts community. We have contacted legal, mental health, and law enforcement authorities in Virgina as well as several media outlets...with no apparent follow through by them at present due to lack of interest or possible statute of limitations for the crime. In short, the lack of interest in this story has been appauling

We have also attempted to contact Blythe and Dennis at their respective youtube/myspace/facebook pages for comment, but they have not responded and have shut down their pages and deleted all content. Though most content had already been saved by Bullshido.

Mr. Dennis now resides in Florida. My Blythe's whereabouts are unconfirmed, though he may be in California.

You can read the entire discussion/investigation here with confirmation of the above facts, police reports, criminal records, screen shots of Blythe's deleted videos/comments, etc:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

We would really like to get this story more press and make sure these men are exposed for the crimes they have committed and brought to some kind of justice...moral, if not legal.

The "mentally challenged" guy was kicking the "masters" ass and the "master" was all out of breath and wheezing. Kicking him in the head while he was on the ground and had quit fighting was the only was that out of shape "master" could beat a retarded guy who wasn't even fighting. I hope the "master" goes to prison and his fellow prisoners find out what he's in for...justice will be done then.

Statute of limitations are way gone, criminally or civil.

Shouldn't this be in the pic/vid forum?

If the guy died? I thought there was no statute of limitations. For all we know that guy died after they dragged him out.

That's a big "if". This is just like any typical DFWStangs thread where we are given a bit of information and everyone fills in their own blanks via their own believes/opinions.

You're assuming he didn't I'm assuming he did. How is my assumption any different than yours?

He was in pretty bad shape when they dragged him out. I think it deserves further investigation to determine whether or not the guy died to see if they can still be charged. Not just throwing your arms up and saying the statute has passed.

You can't prosecute on an assumption of death. Yea, he was in bad shape, but in no worse than I've seen other videos that have been posted or seen in UFC fights.

This apparently happened in Florida 25 years ago. Why are you so excited about it?

Here ya go:

I don't know what UFC fights you have seen but I haven't seen any where a guys head was being stomped like that. After that last blow he was breathing really badly. I have seen people breathing like that, on a faces of death video.

Anyhow, people who do shit like that for fun disgust me.

edit.. Just to clarify, I mean people who try to fight others they think they can beat up purely for amusement.

Yeah, that was disgraceful. The knees and head stomps were absolutely pointless other than to maim the guy. Sadly, the Jesus Red belt downed the "black belt" once and nearly caught him a second time. That is so sad.

Back in the day before Dana White took over and implemented rules so they could broadcast fights, there were no rules. Head stomping and all kinds of other crazy shit was perfectly "legal."

That's not true.

I'm not saying that this particular case is a good example of a case that could be prosecuted on presumption of death, but it happens. There are many murder cases that are prosecuted with no body ever being found. It takes a significant amount of evidence, but in this particular case with the video would be plenty of evidence IF the victim was unable to be located after the video was taken. An investigation, with extensive witness interrogations, would be necessary to determine if this case was an agg assault or a homicide.

I don't know FL law, but in Texas this would not only be an aggravated assault, but could also be prosecuted as injury to a disabled person.

Also, at least some, if not all, of the witnesses could be prosecuted.

The breathing isn't really as bad as it looks, I think making that snoring noise is actually somewhat common when someone gets knocked out. I connected real hard on some punks jaw about 4 years ago, and he fell over making that exact same noise....it did freak me out when I heard/saw it, but I found out later that it is not all that uncommon for people to make a gasping/snoring noise when they've been knocked unconscious suddenly.

Even still....pretty fucked up how they set this deal up. I'm betting there is a lot more to this story....like that the tard guy kept hanging around their place and bugging everyone or something...still doesn't justify it, but I'm sure there's more to the story.

What was hillarious is the fact that he was doing pretty good against the master guy, who was apparently wearing a black belt....and it wasn't until he quit fighting that the dude took him down and then utilized cheap shots to put him out.

The story goes like this....

The sensei in the video is 63 now. I guess he just learned how to use the internet and thought it would be ironic to post this to youtube and send it to his friends. In the youtube posting he said the man was messing with area businesses and started telling people next door to the dojo that he taught a class there. This pissed Bobby Joe off and led to what we see in the video. He went on to state that the police had to pull his body out of the dumpster.

Bobby Joe put this in the video description on Youtube.

Quote:
This dummy was in my shopping center while I was on a Bodyguard Job in Washington, DC. This guy was in the Pizza Hut eating pizza off the plates of others and the Pizza Hut Manager ran him out with a pistol. Later the very same day, police officers were called to remove him from a nearby pharmacy after having been caught reaching into customer's purses. A short time after that, he visited a Napa Auto Parts store next to my Karate Dojo and told the management he planned on teaching in that Dojo and that Jesus taught him.

The Napa guys told him he was confused (their polite way of warning the man against such action), but not wanting to miss a show, they told the man they would close early just to watch and that he must not know the owner, which is nobody to play with.. Needless to say, the police pulled him out of the dumpster behind my Karate Dojo where he was neatly placed. Semper Fi to all my Marine brothers. The karate student in the white is also a Marine Sgt. and a brand new Black Belt. Never get stupid with a Marine, you could get jacked up and have your clock stopped.
He pulled the video off of the Internet once he realized that it spread like wildfire. If this guy did die, and it's very likely from the broken jaw, gargling noise, and blood everywhere, the limitations don't apply to this degree of murder. So this dumbass might just have opened up pandora's box on himself, and those witnessing, because of the need to boast on the internets.

On the other hand, there were quite a few people there that would have had to have played along to keep this quiet for that long. Who knows

That was what i thought before i clicked play, the mentally challenged guy reminds me of a guy in town that was adopted by a family, His name is Randy, but since 7th grade we called him R-Dog. He was about 20 at that time and he would always come up to us during football practice and say he played for Miami Dolphins, and he could out run everyone..He always got beat and could not play football worth a shit, after that he would say he trained poodles for Paris Hilton, and other nonsense. One day me and my buddy Kyle had just got done tearing up some mud in his z71, he saw as at a gas station with the truck covered in mud and said his "h1" could out mud us and started talking shit. He did this to the wrong person at Sonic one day and got his ass beat by some kid from a neighboring town. Not to mention i was working at the local grocery store when i had just got my 72' c-10. He walked into the back of the store where only employees are allowed and began talking shit to me, calling me a pussy and that he was going to bust my "grille". I responded with the only grille i have is the one on my truck, and if you don't shut your mouth and get the fuck out of here i am going to beat the shit out of you with this broom handle.. He mouthed off and left.. I never would have hit the guy due to his disabilities, but he sure knew how to run his mouth.

The video above is fucked up and unnecessary, It was all fine until he stated "you're good" clearly saying he was done and did not want to continue. The "master" should have let that go with the lesson learned, no need to stomp his head onto the concrete.

Anyhow, people who do shit like that for fun disgust me.

edit.. Just to clarify, I mean people who try to fight others they think they can beat up purely for amusement.
Please DO NOT take this like I'm defending anyone, but BOTH parties had the opporotunity to walk away before it got out of hand. If the skinny guy didn't want to fight, he sure did a damn good job striking at, and putting the "black belt" down.

Just because he "says" he didn't want to fight, his actions prove otherwise.

Seriously? How am I excited? I just replied to your post about the statute of limitations.

I am pretty sure they said near fatal because the video didn't show him die.

I like you dude but damn are you stubborn.
Investigate could be a mere check of death records. No death at/around that time of that person, no prosecutable offense.

I've seen a UFC fight where a guy went down with breathing difficulties just like that and the other guy pounced on him and began striking him again before the ref could get in between them.

I like how the author says "near fatal attack" and then says that it is "not confirmed". How the cfuk does he know it was "nearly fatal"?

Stubborn is one of my good qualities. To know me is to luv me
