LSx swapped WRX

Seems so unnatural, yet so cool. I wonder if the AWD still works.

I love those LSx swaps. First time i've seen one in a WRX.

My favorites so far at the E36 BMW and the newer body style 350z.

How would they keep the AWD? I'm sure its just RWD now with a heavier engine

That's awesome dude. Lots of option for the look/handling department too.

Is the motor similar weight to the stocker? Just curious on the weight balance of the vehicle.

By using an adapter to mate the bellhousing to the lsx.

It's actually smaller in dimensions and is lighter too!

Looks like you'll be investing in tires a lot!

Try to take pictures throughout the process. Will you be purchasing a swap kit from someone? I noticed that Hinson doesn't have a kit available on their site.

I added up the entire package for a 350z and it's 4k, plus the motor. I wonder how much the 350z motor and trans would sell for.

This is the same guy who basically put a Civic body on top of a C5 drivetrain = Civette. The car is RWD and I don't think there are plans to make it AWD. All of the Subaru gauges work and it is a 6spd. The lsx is also light/smaller than the T2.5 boxer that came out of that car. Someone has swapped a Ls1 into a EVO before this car was done, but I don't think it turned out as nice as the WRX. This guy does good quality work from what I can tell. The vorshlag guys are local (hellofa nice group of guys too even if you don't drive a BMW) and their car is an animal for what it is. One more thing LSX>everything else....

i love it when people say that about lsx motors...cause that's the only thing they can say! lol. my gf's parents has a 2003 tahoe with the 5.3 and it has 180k on it...and i'd say 60-70% is city driving. only engine problem was an alternator at around 120k.

I had an '02 SS Camaro that would occasionally "slap", and in my case, it was the Mobile 1 5/30 oil that came in it. I read about the German Castrol Syntec 0/30. I used it and a large Wix filter w/6 quarts, and never heard it again. That is some badass oil.

Stop posting all these swaps... the damn SVO might get a LSX heart instead of its little 4 pot

That might tick off a few purists

I think the SUby swap is awesome. i would definitely pimp that ride.....I am curious how the intake piping will go together....Seems tight.

I wonder if it would be easier to make an intake with the TB on the backside.
As it stands I don't think the hood will close.

He shoots the underside of the car, and I think I see the stock(ish?) AWD system. I bet those tiny differentials don't last long.

I bet that rearend will hold up, there are some strong running subys running around with stock style rear ends..... It might need some upgrades, but i bet it holds just fine....
