Lake Murray Quad Trip 5/16-5/17

Getting a group of people together that want to ride Lake Murray next weekend. I will be there from Sat 16th to Sun 17th. Some people complain about the noise and camping, but it dies down at about 3am from what I'm told. I plan to be riding till about then anyway. So if you want to ride and have a nice relaxing time out at the Lake, post up. I'll probably bring a big grill so we can cook some food Saturday night before the night ride!

Assuming it does not rain everyday from now till then, I will try and make it out. It's been too long since our last trip. We would probably head out on Friday night and return Sunday afternoon.

Cheap cheap cheap. $7 to ride all day and night. Tent camping is pretty cheap around $10-15 I believe and sites with hook ups are $26 a night.

I might be down for this as well.

I have no idea if they're open on friday's or not. They do have nice restrooms and showers there. I usually build my tent on my trailer... i'm just not a big fan of sleeping on the ground - even with an air mattress. It's my Temporary Mobile Home!

This was our athens trip, but you can look for this tent on this trailer - thats me!

That was some sloppy $hit! quicksand. My wife and I went to Murray the weekend after we all went to Bulcher, not near as much mud as I thought there would be....was still a lot of funt though. We might be down for this as well.

They never close. You might have a hard time paying late at night but they aren't checking anyways. Technically night riding is only open to those that have paid for camping but like I said, they can't really check. Just don't ride 2 up if your ATV wasn't designed for it, you will get hassled and possibly ticketed by the game warden.

Well, I went out to lake murray today. Honestly I was not impressed. The trails are not that good. I didn't know it was all like red dirt/clay slop, it was soaked out there. I had fun anyways, but probably not the best place for dirtbikes.

It varies dramatically out there depending on the recent weather. Generally when it's fairly dry it's mostly sand but yeah tons of red clay (it is Oklahoma after all).

Hell, just get a quad... we ride often enough and i've got room for 2 more usually, whether its in the truck or on the trailer.
