Video on Drag Radial car safety
Its Big Daddy talking about Alex Vrettos wanting to go 6's @210 on radials and the saftey stuff needed to do it. Its a pretty cool video. Some of the stuff makes you think WOW. Takes a few to watch it, it will open your eyes to how dangerous these cars are.

so the uppers are getting the 3/4 bolts or not?
i do belive that would be a good idea, being that i have had the similar issues with the 5/8s bolts in the Spherical bushing area.

Shit. I think he's using 3/4" bolts.
![]() Bid Daddy is a great guy to talk to, as is Wolfe. Wolfe's been using the 3/4" bolts for a long time now - he told me several years ago to change to them when I called him complaining about bolts they supply bent all to shit and had to be cut out - and my car only made about 400rwhp at that time. (5 speed and a maniac driver did them in). I got about 75 passes out of a set of the stock type bolts before they were GONE! Same for the wheel studs. Just as an example of how bad the 5 speed tore shit up - my car ran 7.50's@92 N/A with the 5 speed, full weight nothing removed. It 60'd in the low 1.50's on ET Streets (but tore up the control arm bolts, wheelstuds and clutches) . Later, I installed the turbo kit and put in a C4 - it dropped to 6.0's@118 and 60'd in the low 1.30's - The wheelstuds and control arm bolts never got damaged.

Some changes were made on the Pumpkin too. This is to show the size differences between the factory 12mm bolts and what we put in the car. We put 3/4" in the lowers and 5/8" in the uppers. Went together smoothly. The black bolt came out of our upper control arms, looks good right? The bolt sizes are: 12mm, 1/2", 5/8", & 3/4" (from left to right).

The aluminum bushings are being replaced by chromemoly bushings(spacers). I am doing the same upgrade on my junk so I will take some pictures when I get it all complete. Turns out that I had a bent lower control arm on my shit so I'm sure the bolts look just lovely. I haven't had time to take it apart.

We drilled the upper aluminum bushings, and Sparky (aka Grape) made solid spacers (1 1/4" round stock) for the lowers.
Thanks to Sparky again!

I have my uppers out of the car right now and I was thinking of doing the same thing.
Pics of the lower spacers? Are the flat on the heim end?

I have the UPR upper and lower control arms with the sphericle bushings. I had the bushings in the lowers drilled out and used 3/4 bolts. I was too lazy to do the uppers. I will be doing the uppers soon.

no penetration on the welds, from the pics I have seen due to poor welding. Just stick to the Wolfe pieces or a custom piece.

![]() I've just never heard good things from UPR's rear suspension stuff... The front suspension work seems like its a different story. I had a UPR K-member on my last mustang and never had a problem out of it. Like James said, stick to the Wolfe stuff and you won't have a problem.

What about the 4 lug. Man I wouldnt run 8.0s in the 1/8 with 4 lug. Have you seen cars brake the lugs off I have. All that money in a sway bar what about a little money in safty? Like 5 lug axels.

I find it hard to believe it went that fast. I saw it run when travis owed it and it was never that fast mabe a 8.70 car at best. And if it did run that fast with 4 lug that was the dumbest mother fucker alive. My life is worth way more than that for sure. People get lost in making power and forget the important things like safty. Is that car 25-5 ?

This was from one of his shake down passes. I am trying to find the video of the 7 second pass. There has been many cars in the 7 second range with four lug axles. We're not worried about it. What does 25.5 have to do with anything. The car runs mid 5's in the 1/8th. When we run a 8.49 in the 1/4, then it might be on our minds.

Pumpkin head car was flying last season! Taking a simple setup and running some nice numbers.
Don't listen to 1fastvipper He will take a setup that would normally run in the top of a field and slow it down enough not to make it a round (how many cars has he had and how many big races has he won??). Plus he screwed a guy I know on a race car - guy still looking for his $$$. There are stories all over the net about him not paying up.
