What is up with my light bulbs...........?
I swear I have at least one light a month go out in my house, it always seems to be the same one in the ceiling fans in both my bedroom and the living room. I've had three go out in the last 4 days, all ones that I've changed with in the last month.
Any ideas what could cause them to go bad so quickly? Are flourecents any better?

Are you using a higher wattage bulb than what the fixture is rated for?

May also try bulbs from an electrical supply house rated correctly. Most homes pull more amps then the bulbs are rated for causing them burn up quicker.

anything to save a few $, is the way i see it. and the "cool-blue" ones i have in the den are kick-ass. like ruffdaddy said, check the rating on them. some will even say "compare to 60w incandescent" but go with the 75-100w ones, IMO

CFL's for the win. Just buy a 3-pack at a time of the appropriate wattage and wait for your regular stuff to go out.
