Question Best way to "touch up" paint chips on hood and fender?

Just wondering the best way to do this. My car is the strawberry red and it has about 15 chips on the hood and fender. I thought a good way to do it was get the matching paint, then scrape the excess off with a razor blade and then put some clear over that. Anyone done this have any advice? Thanks Chase
