Anybody have one?

I'm thinking about getting a sturm ruger new model blackhawk 30 carbine. Anybody have one? shot one before? Thanks-J

Unless they have changed you may find the frame is extremely small and difficult to handle. The recoil is sharp, as is expected.

The one I shot was 6" unported, and with surplus ammo it was just about perfect at 200m.

You'll find it very similar to a blackhawk in 32H&R mag. If you have smaller hands or for some reason have a fondness for the smaller frame then it might be for you. Otherwise maybe the 9mm, 38 or 357, or one step up to the 41/44/45 size frame.

I personally don't care for SAA wheelguns but I do like the cartridge. The Blackhawk itself is a good solid piece, and the tapered cartridge lends itself to that design well enough.
