Talk me down...

I just got back from Vegas. I really don't need to be spending money...

But this gun is calling me for some reason. I feel I need a .22 pistol.

It's a Walther P22 Target model for $225.

Do it, or not?

I've been wanting to get a .22 pistol to shoot. They are soo cheap and fun for the range.

Give me a day or two and I'll shoot you a PM.

Can't decide if I want a P22 with or without the barrel extension... and the gun show is this weekend.

What do you figure it's worth? I just got the "buy a new pistol" bug this evening... and honestly, I don't know much about Walthers other than I liked the P22's and P99's that I have shot.

LOL, as I'm sitting here debating this P22, I thought, "hey, wanna spend a little more and get a 92FS?"

I'm a bit indecisive

If you like Walthers and want a small caliber, small framed fuck around gun, seriously get the PPK.

I would pay $100 no problem. But this is DFWstangsland. Without holding it, and ideally shooting it, it's hard to say.

I have the same bug BTW but I'm looking at sigs glocks and HKs.

+1

my marvel kit came from the factory with a .88" target/rds at 50 yards. kits are guaranteed to be under an inch at 50 yds.

i wish they offered the commander length one when i bought mine. but still a very happy customer.

I thought about a conversion kit for my SW1911, but...
I could get the P22 for less money, and I would get to buy a new gun

I think I'll take cash to the gun show tomorrow morning. If I don't find anything, I'll see if this one is still available.

Click on either of the pictures down the link; you'll get the available variations.

Some folks don't like Rugers or the company, but I really like the 22/45. Ergonomics aren't identical to .45's - but close enough. Many aftermarket mods available, including triggers, bolt release / safety extensions, fieldstrip kits, sights.

Buy the Walther P22 I have the target model and it shoots great! I have a Ruger 10/45 as a 22 plate gun and its fun to shoot but the Walther is a better gone. My opinion for what thats worth.

The Walther 22 I shot was smaleer than that, and it had a pretty stiff trigger. Unless its easy to adjust I think I would skip it.

If I were going to buy a .22 pistol, I'd go with the Woodsman (Colt), or the Ruger "bull-barrell".

I ended up not getting this gun. I was under the impression that the P22 was on a P99 sized frame... just .22 cal. I happened to be at Sportsmans Warehouse the other day and went to the gun counter to look around and realized I was mistaken. The P22 is just too damn small for my tastes.

Have you checked out the Beretta Neo? It feels thicker than it looks. I haven't shot one though. That is what I don't like about the Ruger and the Browning, they feel small for their weight.

For a target pistol the Anschutz Exemplar is hard to beat, but they cost a lot. I've heard the Calico is very well balanced, but I haven't seen anything but the 9mm for sale at shows, although they also feel good.
