Ennis Today

I did not see anyone from DFWstang today that I knew. I did talk to a bunch of LS1 guys. I had fun, very few street cars, but lots of pros. I still could not get my 60' below 2.00. The track was sticky as hell. The first launch at 2k rpms and then engine about dies. The 2nd launch at 2.3k and bog. The final(6th) run was a 3.3k launch. It hooked good, but I guess I need gears now.

Best run today is a new ET and MPH best but not for the 60'

2.057 60'
8.686 1/8
81.92 MPH
13.462 1/4
103.04 MPH

I didn't realize you were on DFWStangs. My friend with the Black 99V6 talked to you for a while and I walked up and had the Laser Red 99V6.

TexasDevilDog, It was nice meeting you today and talking about cars. I learned a lot about the 99+ corbas.

So, I went out to Ennis today because a couple of my friend wanted to race their C5's. I took my street trim daily driver Z28 "pig" which weighed in at a whooping 3555 lbs with me in it.

My best race and the only ford I lost to all day was a old ford muscle car. I thought he would just kill me, but he went 12.4 vs my 12.8.

My best run today on street tires was only a
12.86@112.6 w/ a 2.159 60'. My Z28 feels slower now (darn cats). Oh well, I can't wait to put the new mods on.

Here's a few pics from today.

Two dfwstangs members racing each other.

I'm about to be toast.

Well, at least I had a better reaction time.

Yeah, with 17" the side wall becomes stiff. They can not good for drag racing.

It only gets better and faster. I haven't changed a thing on my car and I have decreased the ET by 1.3 seconds since last year. It all driver baby and Nittos courtesy of Lane's.

Yeah its a combo of the extra weight plus kuhmos suck for hooking. I should of gone with some DRs in the back.

I was #21...2002 WS6, lid, cutout, short stick, SFC's, STB...

I discovered a screw in my RR tire while in the staging lanes for a third run. Kinda cut my day short and killed my plans of launching it harder on the sticky track...

It was fun!!!

Richard, it was nice meeting you, nice Cobra and great numbers. Teddy, cool seeing you again. The first picture is me and you at the line. For a stock GT, except for FMS 'C' Springs, I was pretty happy with my times in my new 2002 GT with 1500 miles.

Ennis was great and nice meeting some of you,
Tom

My best time out 4 slips was 14.212 @ 97.39. My reaction time was a sleeping .653 with a 60 ft of 2.158 on Kumho street tire. Over all my best of all categories were: R/T .557, 60' 2.158, 1/4 14.212, and MPH 98.26. Not bad compared to the times I had in my 98 GT.
