Favorite Houston Restaurant?

I always like trying new, good food when I visit Houston.

I'm gonna go with Mel's (located in Tomball).

I've been down there. The Aquirium wasn't great food wise but the restaurant is 90% deep water fish tank! Now that's badass. I've also been to the Johnny Walker Room which was amazing.

Any other ideas?

You've gotta try Pecos Grill on East T.C. Jester. They've got the best chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken this side of 610. It's past the Memorial Hospital NW.

Oh shit! Do you like Italian food? I LOVE Lasagna House there off of 1960. You should go there. Or if you like the normal chain restaurants there are a ton off of 45, from 1960 until Conroe.

I know I'm riskin' getting flamed on this one, but there is a killer sushi joint on Richmond right before Fountainview called Koko's. The dude that runs it, Ken, is a pretty cool guy and if you get there late, he won't let you leave until you drink all his saki.

Taste of Texas off of I 10 towards Katy,go to the glass case and pick your cut of meat and then they cook it how you like it.Rated like number 1 or 2 in the state of Texas for steakhouses.

Brennan's - make sure you try the turtle soup, and cheese grits - Cajun type food
Azuma - sushi, try cooking beef on a rock at your table, kinda cool

Second that! P.F. Changs on Westheimer is my spot at least once a week. Ate there last night before we went to Houston Indoor Karting (used to be KartZone).
