Water Spots....

okay, so I know I sound like a Newbie this way, but I've never owned a black car before! It seems like no matter how hard I try, I can't dry it fast enough to get the water spots off, and I'm getting pretty annoied. Any suggestions?

Suggestions
Dry in the shade
Make sure the car is cool
Rinse with low pressure to sheet spots off
Use Rain-X car wash
Clay it

Doing any of these should help. I would say that using clay is a last resort for spots that you can't seem to get out.

Sounds crazy, but use very slightly damp soft cloth and go back over the car after drying. Should work. It's worth a try.

Use a little bit of vinager and water on a rag. It will take them off.

Or, dry it faster

Meguier's also makes a product called Final Inspection. Just spray it on after your car is dry, wipe it off, and the water spots will come off.

The waterblade works well but has been known to scratch cars.
Go with the simple solution first and then work your way up.

If you didn't wash your car away from your place you wouldn't have to worry about it.

That's what I use too. I usually use two of them, one to get most of the water off and the other to go back over it and clean up the streaks.

Also, try using a detailer afterwards, that helps.

LMAO I love hearing the drama about stuff people don't know a whole lot about.

A squigy does not scratch the paint. That's all that needs to be said about that.

Don't use all these other products. Like I told you if you need help just ask. You need soap water and a towel or Absorber. Thats all. Wax is a good thing :-)

I have seen a water blade scratch a hood of a 94 F-150 in person. Yeah the guy who was using it didn't seem to know what he was doing, but none the less that was the result. Not trying to be an "expert" on the water blade, just telling you what I have seen.

I don't see how he could have scratched any part of a hood with rubber that has water between it unless he forgot to wash the car and left rocks on the hood when doing it. Not trying to be a smart ass but I have been detailing cars for years now and never seen a scratch put in anything from a rubber squigy.

I have no idea, he washed the truck but maybe there wasn't enough or any water between the paint and the rubber? Anyway I'll take your experience over some fluke scratch that I've seen.
